No need to go to Holland to see thousands tulips in a rainbow of colors and no need to visit a distant theme park to engage small children’s fancy. Just head to the 1300 block of Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall for the on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
More than 15,000 thousand tulips are blooming gloriously on the Mall and during this family event, pint-sized fairies and elves, parade around “waking up the tulips.”
The annual features the lovely Tulip Fairy presiding, as little girls dressed in fairy outfits, wings and all, and little boys in elf costumes gather on the Mall for FREE activities.
These include foam-sword dueling, arts and crafts projects, nature-related activities, playing instruments and live kid-friendly performances.
Don’t miss Parades with the Tulip Fairy leaving from the front of the performance stage at 1:45 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.
The performance stage will be on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall
1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. — School of Rock
2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. — Bear Cub Brigade
3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. — Jenn Cleary
4 p.m. to 5 p.m. — Waking the Bear, with Jeff & Paige
Confirmed activities for 2026:
- Teddy Bear Doctor’s Visit activity with Kaiser Permanente
- Foam Sword Dueling with Renaissance Adventures on the County Courthouse Lawn
- Run on a giant hamster wheel to make your own snow cone with Big Wheel Beverages
- Meet and greet with a mermaid
- Aerial rig performance by Aspire Aerial Dance
- Face Painting Stations (free and for a fee) throughout the event
- Nature Activities and Wildlife Safety with Open Space & Mountain Parks and others
- Conduct a Fairy Science Experiment with Wild Bear Nature Center
Parking is FREE on Sundays in all Boulder municipal garages and at on-street meters.
IMPORTANT: Rain (or snow) date is May 3. Should the festival be rescheduled, organizers will make an announcement by 10 a.m. on April 26.
