I have always felt that requiring digital coupons or smart phones or downloading apps in order to get discounts is a descriminatory practice against the poor and the elderly. It’s a bunch of class action lawsuits waiting to happen. Kroger may have dodged a big bullet here by being proactive and eliminating this practice. Hopefully others will follow suit before they get nailed by a shrewd law firm.

The Kroger website has not worked correctly on a 56K dialup Internet connection for several years. Paper coupons will definitely help customers who do not have multi-MB Internet service at home and are not always able to get to a library to download digital coupons during a sale week.

I hope Safeway — which also has a web site too technically advanced for 56K dialup — will follow the King Soopers lead in making digital coupon savings available equally to everyone, regardless of their electronic devices and level of Internet connection.

Great to hear! While I use digital coupons, a retired neighbor has mastered all things digital required (registering for medical appts, et al), yet loading digital coupons takes time and is confusing. I’ll share this info and he’ll now be able to share in the savings. Thanks MHOTC!

YEAH!!! Aome of the coupons were on the top shelves and I couldnt hold my phone stedy enough to scan! I had written to Kroger but never heard back. So glad they came up with a solution. I will have to check it out today!!!
