Daniel – Unfortunately, headlines are short. As a result, we simply cannot fully explain a deal in 6 or 7 words. When an offer does not require any additional purchase, we typically use the term “Totally Free” as opposed to just “Free”. Please know we are not trying to be deceptive. Our posts are not long, so we hope readers don’t mind taking a few extra seconds to click and review an offer in its entirety. We always provide as much “fine print” as possible on every deal we publish. It’s up to you, as the reader/consumer, to decide whether it meets your standards. In this case, Starbucks is very popular and not known for many deals, so that’s why we highlighted it. And, technically, the gift card is FREE (as there is no additional charge), much like any other buy-one-get-one free offer. (In addition, had we omitted the word “Free” in this headline, it still would have been implied — “Get $5 Starbucks Gift Card on Cyber Monday.” Our point being that headlines can be tricky.) -BKC

I just have one issue so far with the wording I often see under “LATEST DEALS” that shows up in the emails:
When you see a heading in the list that says (quoted), “Get Free $5 Starbucks Gift Card on Cyber Monday” … for most of us that reads “FREE”, like in other listings on the site. But when you clik the link and go to the listing, you soon realize it’s not actually FREE, you have to spend $20 first. It’s a “SAVINGS” for sure, but not technically FREE. Most of us role our eyes when we see that in the so called ‘fine print’ of promos everywhere. It’s like the classic trick to just separate you from your money somehow. This opinion of mine is an “umbrella” comment overall and not singling out MHOC. But MHOC on the whole makes a distinction of truly “FREE”, and anything else contrary could be inconsistent?
Also I wanted to admit, “Thankfully”….MHOC gives us the option to comment. So thanks again for that. In contrast, you have to jump through hoops with companies like “Starbucks” to leave comments on their sites…or heaven forbid, the Phone! LOL!… and very rarely get a response. Anyway, that’s my ‘2 cents’ total… and no purchase necessary in additon…LOL!
